Manrico-Padovani
Manrico Padovani, violinist.

Manrico was born in Zurich from Italian parents. A prodigy child, he was awarded several times nationally and internationally. He was the first Swiss violinist to perform all 24 Paganini Caprices in concert in one evening (Zurich, 2006). He has accomplished a brilliant career in Europe, Asia and the United States, accompanied by great conductors such as Rudolf Barshai and in the company of great soloists such as Anne-Sophie Mutter. His technical ability and musical intensity made him being called with numerous titles, including “violinist of the devil”. He is one of the few violinists to use in his recording of Beethoven’s violin concerto the cadence of Leopold Auer, instead of Kreisler cadence, normally used by other violinists. For the concert of Paganini, he even uses the cadence of Emile Sauret, the most difficult ever written for this concert. Countless recordings. He plays a Stradivarius of 1716.
